Noctua finally set to launch its iconic NH-D15 G2 cooler in Chromax Black

Noctua NH-D15 G2 Chromax.Black teased

Noctua has posted a new teaser image that points to the long-awaited NH-D15 G2 chromax.black cooler finally reaching market. The image shows the updated NH-D15 in all-black color design of the second-generation flagship, arriving more than a year after the beige-and-brown NH-D15 G2 went on sale.

The company already showed the NH-D15 G2 chromax.black at Computex 2025 alongside matching NF-A14x25 G2 fans and confirmed that the black versions were planned for a late-2025 release window. The cooler also appears on Noctua’s public roadmap with a Q4 2025 target, so this teaser looks like the first step toward that launch deadline.

Technically, the chromax.black version should mirror the standard NH-D15 G2: a dual-tower heatsink with eight heatpipes, asymmetrical fin stacks, and two NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans. Noctua has already stated that the black coating used on its chromax line does not reduce cooling performance,.

Compatibility should also match the current G2 models, including Intel LGA1851 and LGA1700 as well as AMD AM5 and AM4 via the SecuFirm2+ mounting system. Pricing has not been announced, but it is likely to sit close to the existing NH-D15 G2 with a small premium for the black finish. Noctua has yet to confirm an exact date, so for now the teaser is the best indication that the NH-D15 G2 chromax.black is almost ready to launch.
