AMD RX 9060 tested: 15% cheaper than 9060XT & 13-14% slower

Hardware Unboxed has published a rare look at AMD’s OEM only Radeon RX 9060. The reason we didn’t see much coverage on this graphics card is because it is not technically on sale, at least not on DIY market. They actually had to buy an entire prebuilt PC to test the card.
The RX 9060 is a cut down Navi 44 GPU with 1,792 cores, 8 GB of 18 Gbps GDDR6 on a 128 bit bus, 288 GBs of bandwidth, and a 132W TBP. It keeps the full PCIe5.0 x16 interface, which should help in VRAM limited scenarios.
There is no official MSRP, but Hardware Unboxed compared two nearly identical systems, one with an RX 9060 and one with an RX 9060 XT 8GB. The RX 9060 system was about 15% cheaper, and from that they estimated a GPU value of around 260 USD. That would place it under the RX 9060 XT 8 GB, which currently sells for around 280 USD, and well below the 16 GB RX 9060 XT that still targets 350 USD.

In a 7 game average at low to medium settings, the RX 9060 delivered 154 fps at 1080p and 107 fps at 1440p. That result makes it only a few % slower than the GeForce RTX 5060, which averaged 157 and 111 fps at the same settings. The gap to the RX 9060 XT 8 GB is larger, around 13 to 14%, but the RX 9060 was 23 to 26 percent faster than the older RX 7600 in the same test.

With ultra quality settings, the RX 9060 again trails the RX 9060 XT by 13 to 14%, but it slightly outperforms the RTX 5060 while staying roughly 26 to 29% ahead of the RX 7600.
The review card from XFX also ran cool and quiet. The catch is that DIY builders cannot buy this GPU on its own, while the similarly fast RTX 5060 is widely available as a retail card.
