Redditor scores i7-14700F and RTX 4070 gaming PC for $342 in clearance sale, cheaper than a used RTX 4070

RTX 4070 Gaming PC at $342

A user on Reddit and Pcmasterrace turned a dead Best Buy link into a standout prebuilt deal. He spotted an iBUYPOWER Y40 desktop with an Intel Core i7 14700F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, that had already sold out online.

The product page still showed a small “see it in store” note for a demo unit, so he planned a trip to his local store and asked if they would sell the floor model. They agreed and, in his words, “Gamers, we f*’ got it” for 370 USD.

Best Buy lists this exact configuration with a comparison value of 1,649.99 USD, so that tower normally sits in the upper mid range of prebuilt gaming PCs. Instead, the demo unit went home for a mid range GPU price. Once back, he wiped the SSD, removed the store demo account, reinstalled Windows 10, dropped in his existing M.2 drive and ended up with 4 TB of total NVMe storage. He then fired up The Last of Us Part II at highest settings and streamed it on Discord to his friends:

Was lurkin in the sub when I came across a post that I can no longer find discussing a sales price of a PC he found at BestBuy for his family. A steal of a deal. Reading through the comments, some fella posted this link. Clicked it and sold out. Damn.

I then noticed the bottom of the cart button saying “See it in store…closest store with a demo model on display” so I made plans to go out when they opened the following morning to see if BestBuy would sell it to me. Gamers, we *** got it. $370.

The wild part is the price gap. Recent eBay listings put used RTX 4070 cards around 400 to 450 USD before shipping, and community pricing advice still pegs anything under 400 USD as a solid deal for a pre-owned card. That means this demo PC was effectively a new gaming PC for less than the going rate of a used RTX 4070 on its own.
