Chinese CXMT to produce DDR5-8000 and LPDDR5X-10667 memory

China catching up with faster LP(DDR5) memory standards

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) has introduced its first DDR5 and LPDDR5X memory products at IC CHINA 2025, marking a new step for domestically produced DRAM in China. The company is targeting servers, desktops, laptops, and embedded devices with a full product stack while aiming to reduce dependence on overseas memory vendors.

The new DDR5 chips come in 16 Gb and 24 Gb capacities and reach speeds of up to 8000 MT/s , above the current 6400 MT/s level that defines the mainstream high-end segment for servers and PCs. CXMT is rolling out modules in most key formats: RDIMM, MRDIMM, TFF MRDIMM for data centers and enterprise servers, UDIMM for desktops, SODIMM for laptops, and CUDIMM and CSODIMM for workstations and overclocked PCs. The clock-driver based CUDIMM and CSODIMM d esigns follow the 2024 JEDEC standard and integrate a CKD chip to maintain signal integrity at higher frequencies.

On the mobile side, CXMT showed its LPDDR5X chips, which reach up to 10,667 MT/s. These come in 12 Gb and 16 Gb densities and enable packages with 12 GB, 16 GB, 24 GB, and 32 GB capacities for thin laptops, embedded designs, and compact AI devices.

The company has already been sampling these parts since October and is positioning them for upcoming flagship systems in the Chinese market.
