Alienware Area-51 now available with AMD Ryzen 9000X3D processors

Dell has updated its Alienware Area-51 flagship desktop with AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. The refreshed tower is available now on Alienware pagem, starting at 4,349.99 USD with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D , 64 GB DDR5-6400 memory, 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. Higher tier presets with Ryzen 9 9950X3D and GeForce RTX 5090 are also listed, going up to 6,149.99 USD.
The system is built around an Alienware X870E motherboard and offers two AMD 3D V-Cache options at launch. Buyers can choose between the Ryzen 7 9800X3D or the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, both aimed at high refresh gaming and heavy multitasking. Alienware says the Area-51 platform was designed to exploit the cache-heavy X3D chips, with a power budget of up to 200W for the CPU and more than 600W reserved for graphics.

The case uses a positive pressure airflow layout with dual 140 mm and dual 180 mm fans, plus up to three 120 mm intake fans depending on configuration. Cool air is pushed through the interior across both CPU and GPU, while heated air exits through the rear, backed by up to a 360 mm liquid cooler for the processor and a 1500 W Platinum-rated ATX12VO power supply in the top configuration.
The updated Area-51 now supports up to 12TB of solid state storage via three 4 TB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen 4 drives. The chassis keeps the new tri-lobed design, tempered glass side panel, internal cable management, and QR code markers for user service, and supports large PCIe Gen 5 graphics cards up to quad slot and 450 mm in length.
