Chieftec The Cube mATX case debuts with speaker-style front fan, supports 33.5 cm GPUs

There are, in fact, no speakers in this case

Chieftec has released The Cube, a compact mATX chassis that imitates the look of a subwoofer. It uses a boxy black shell with a large circular vent at the front, so on a desk it can pass for an audio speaker rather than a PC case. The enclosure targets users who want a small desktop system that still takes standard components.

The case measures 26.5 x 33.5 x 38.5 cm for a total volume of 34.1 liters and weighs 4.6 kg. The steel structure supports graphics cards up to 335 mm long, air coolers up to 160 mm tall and full-size ATX power supplies. Storage support covers two 2.5-inch drives and two 3.5-inch drives, which is enough for a mixed SSD and HDD setup without extra brackets.

Cooling is centered around a pre-installed 200 mm fan mounted behind the front fabric mesh (so it is not a speaker but a fan). Two 120 mm fans can be added for extra airflow. The front I/O is placed on the top edge and includes two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, plus separate audio out and microphone jacks. Chieftec also uses hinged panels and a latch-style opening mechanism to make access to the interior quicker than with standard screws.

The Cube is already available at European retailers for around 70 EUR, which translates to roughly 80 USD. Chieftec has not confirmed plans for wider distribution, so for now the case is limited to the EU market.
