Tai Hing Group Holdings made the announcement on the Hong Kong stock exchange website on Monday night regarding the founder’s death earlier in the day.
“Chan Wing-on has made valuable and significant contributions to the development and success of the Group with his outstanding vision and distinguished leadership over the 36 years since its establishment,” the company’s statement read.
“The Board of Directors, senior management and all employees of the Group express their heartfelt respect and gratitude to Chan Wing-on for his efforts and valuable contributions to the Group and the catering industry over the years.”
It added that Chan had held positions in public office and served society, while also promoting and supporting the transformation of the catering industry.
