Intel Confirms Arrow Lake “Core Ultra 200S” Refresh CPUs Support Faster DDR5-7200 MT/s Native Memory

Intel has confirmed that its upcoming Arrow Lake "Core Ultra 200S" Refresh CPUs will support faster DDR5 memory speeds.

Intel's Arrow Lake "Core Ultra 200S" Refresh CPUs are all prepped for unveil at CES 2026 , and the blue team has confirmed one of its biggest highlights.

While the Arrow Lake Refresh lineup won't have much on offer versus the existing lineup, in addition to higher cores on certain SKUs, and higher clock speeds, there's one area which will see a nice update & that's memory support.

As per Intel's , the company has confirmed that the new refresh will feature faster 7200 MT/s DDR5 speeds natively. This is specific to CUDIMM memory or DDR5 memory with CKD (Clock Driver) ICs. The rest of the support will remain the same at 5600 MT/s UDIMM & 6400 MT/s CSODIMM. Currently, Intel's Arrow Lake CPUs support CUDIMMs with speeds of up to 6400 MT/s natively, so a 12.5% boost.

Now this higher memory support comes from two sources: one is the optimized IMC (Integrated Memory Controller), and the other is the optimizations carried out on LGA 1851 platforms. Intel is unlikely to offer a new PCH over the existing Z890, but we can see some new designs that will offer the best experience on Arrow Lake CPUs.

The 2DPC speeds remain the same across Arrow Lake and Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs. Besides the desktop lineup, the Arrow Lake-HX "Core Ultra 200HX" refresh memory support remains the same across both SODIMM and CSODIMM standards (5600/6400 MT/s).

We recently reported leaked specifications of the upcoming Core Ultra 200S Plus CPUs , which feature two SKUs with 4 additional E-Cores, and 100 MHz higher clock speeds for some models. This, plus the higher DDR5 memory speeds, should make for a nice performance uplift, but we still believe that the overall market reception is going to be a bit dull since the initial Arrow Lake launch wasn't good enough against AMD's Ryzen offerings.

Plus the fact that many PC builders already know that LGA 1851 is going to be replaced by the newer LGA 1954 socket in the second half of 2026 with support for next-gen Nova Lake-S CPUs . Those will compete against AMD's Zen 6-based Ryzen offerings around a similar timeframe.
