Soulframe Launch Draws Near as Founders' Campaign Launches

Soulframe, the upcoming open world dark fantasy MMORPG from the developers behind Warframe, appears to be nearing launch. Much as was the case with the new game's sci-fi predecessor, Warframe, Digital Extremes is using a Founders' campaign to help support development and drive early engagement in the game's world. Soulframe has already been available in a limited pre-alpha playtest for over a year, and Digital Extremes has been steadily expanding the number of players with access to the playtest with Twitch stream rewards and similar engagement campaigns. The launch of the Founders' packs, however, mark the first official way to get guaranteed access to Soulframe without having to watch a dev stream.

There are technically four Founder's campaign bundles, although one is just a combination of the other three with some additional bonuses. The three cheaper bundles all come in at $29.99 and feature one character class and an accompanying main weapon, armor set, sidearm, and cosmetics. The three Founders' classes—or pacts, as they're called in Soulframe—follow the typical mage, warrior, and assassin/stealth archetypes. Players who sign up as Founders by purchasing a Founder's bundle will also receive 1,000 Arcs, the game's premium in-game currency, 10 Moonsteel Threads, a code to unlock a special Envoy's Sphere Longsword in Warframe, and they will have their names featured in-game in the Eternium Gardens. The $99.99 Paragon bundle includes access to all of the benefits of the other bundles along with an additional Paragon greatsword, 500 bonus Arcs, and 3 bonus codes for the Warframe Envoy's Sphere Longsword. If Warframe is anything to go by, any exclusive founders' rewards will remain that way for a long time. It's unclear when the 1.0 version of Soulframe will be ready for launch—even though 2025 was the stated goal—but the Founders' campaign is a good indication that development is progressing smoothly.
