Not too long ago, we reported on a supposed release window for the upcoming Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake by Ubisoft. Now, however, a fresh leak from u/siliconwolf13 on Reddit has revealed early gameplay footage from the beleaguered Prince of Persia game. The test footage itself comes out of a presentation deck that was used for focus groups in 2024, so the game has likely changed significantly since then, but the bones of the game shown off in the footage may still be present when the eventual 2026 launch date rolls around.
The footage shown off in the test clips reveal just what you'd expect from a game early in development—incomplete textures, some unshaded environments, and an overall lack of polish. However, some of what is shown in the clips is impressively smooth looking parkour and the makings of a modern game. The footage came alongside some behind-the-scenes clips with the developers and artists talking about how they have tried to stay true to the spirit and mysticism of the original Sands of Time game while still modernizing things like the visuals and gameplay mechanics—notably parkour and platforming mechanics—where they can.
