The writing has been on the wall for the era of console exclusives for a while now, with many publishers an even Microsoft slowly rejecting the idea in favor of improved reach and, presumably, the allure of more profit. Sony, however, still insists that many of its in-house games be timed exclusives, and that appears to be the route Sony is taking with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. According to a new page by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) , Death Stranding 2 will eventually launch for PC, although an exact release date or even a release window remains elusive.
The rating, which is exclusively for the Windows PC version of Death Stranding 2, has the same "Mature 17+" label, citing violence, warfare, foul language, bloodshed, and gore for the rating. Death Stranding 2 launched on PS5 in June 2025, so it is expected to land on PC fairly soon, given the usual six-to-eight month timed exclusive period. That said, an end-of-year launch may be on the cards, given the prospect of increased sales as a result of the festive period.
