Samsung Display's various generations of QD-OLED technology have served as the basis of many top-grade gaming monitors. The South Korean giant enjoys a market leading position, with multiple big name manufacturers adopting Samsung's latest and greatest 4K and 2K panels. Naturally, the company's own Odyssey G-series utilizes these offerings. OLED gaming monitor enthusiasts have long wondered whether WOLED-based solutions were in the running—noted as LG Display's main specialty. According to inside track information—courtesy of Channel Gate—Samsung is set to release its first-ever WOLED-based gaming monitor in 2026. A leaked schedule outlines a "Week 20" (aka late June) launch of the unannounced "S27HG702WC" model.
It is claimed that an LG-produced 4K 165 Hz WOLED panel will serve as the basis of this 27-inch dual-mode capable product; allowing an alternative FHD 330 Hz mode. A smattering of Samsung TVs already utilize LG WOLED tech, but this supply agreement has seemingly expanded into gaming lines. Industry experts posit that Samsung's plants are perfectly capable of manufacturing their own WOLED solutions, but it is more economically viable to source units from a nearby rival. Additionally, the Channel Gate leak points to various forthcoming QD-OLED-based models; mostly refreshes of existing G60/61 and G80/G81 products. These products are lined up for launch throughout the first half of 2026.
