Job Listings Tip Ongoing Work on Call of Duty for Switch 2

It's been known since June 2025 that Call of Duty is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, although details have been rather slim until now. A recent job posting has popped up on the Activision Careers page seeking a technical artist for Sledgehammer Games with specific reference to the Call of Duty and experience developing a "AAA mobile or Switch experience." Much as was the case with the recent story about CD Projekt Red hiring a swathe of developers for Cyberpunk 2 , this could indicate that the development work on the Switch 2 Call of Duty game is ramping up. Another bit of evidence supporting this theory is that there are several similar roles posted for Sledgehammer Games developers, artists, and other technical position.

Putting Call of Duty onto the Nintendo Switch 2 in some form aligns with Microsoft's recent move to broaden the scope of its game launches, with The Outer Wilds 2 marking the start of a move to simultaneous launches earlier this year. It's unclear, however, what shape the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Call of Duty will be. Early trailers of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 didn't feature the Nintendo Switch 2 logo alongside the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation logos, leading to speculation that the shooter franchise would make it to Nintendo's game platform as something different entirely. It's not impossible that Activision and Microsoft are planning to launch a game roughly resembling the full-fledged console and PC version of Black Ops 7, much like games like Warframe were ported to the original Switch with minimal changes aside from graphical optimization.
