ASRock readies 4.9L DeskSlim mini PC line for Intel LGA-1700 and AMD AM5 CPUs

ASRock Desk Slim revealed

ASRock is preparing a new DeskSlim compact PC line built around a 4.9-liter chassis, targeting small office and light workstation use. The series launches in two versions: DeskSlim B760 for Intel processors and DeskSlim X600 for AMD platforms. Both are promoted as “mini AI workstations” with support for discrete low profile dual slot graphics cards up to 200 mm long and VESA mounting for use behind a display or under a desk.

DeskSlim B760 pairs a 14th, 13th or 12th Gen Intel Core CPU up to 125W with an Intel B760 chipset. The system offers four DDR5 slots supporting up to 256 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, two SATA ports, and two M.2 2280 slots, one wired for SATA or PCIe 4.0 x4 and one for PCIe 4.0 x4. Expansion includes a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and an M.2 2230 slot for WiFi and Bluetooth modules, while display outputs consist of two DisplayPort 8K60 and one HDMI 4K60, backed by a mix of USB 3.2 Gen1, USB 2.0 and 2.5 GbE on the front and rear panels.

The AMD focused DeskSlim X600 uses the X600 chipset and supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors up to 65 W. Memory support again spans four DDR5 slots up to 256 GB, with speeds up to DDR5-7200 overclocked and ECC or non ECC options. Storage is handled by two SATA ports plus two M.2 2280 sockets, one wired for PCIe 5.0 x4 and one for PCIe 4.0 x4, and the system adds USB4 on the rear alongside DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI outputs rated for 4K at 120 Hz.

Both DeskSlim systems share the same 95 x 235 x 220 mm enclosure and rely on an external 240W power brick, with an optional 330W unit, which ASRock presents as an advantage because it keeps PSU heat and fan noise outside the 4.9-liter case. It is a slightly amusing bit of marketing spin, turning the lack of an internal PSU into a noise and thermals “feature”, but at least it helps explain the quiet operation claims and support for 71 mm high CPU coolers.

For now the DeskSlim series is only teased in ASRock marketing material and is not yet fully listed on the company’s website; more complete product pages are expected next week, and there is still no information on pricing or availability.
