With DDR5 prices on a historic rise due to massive AI demand , the last thing I expected to wake up to on Cyber Monday morning was a sweet deal on a 32GB kit of DDR5-6000. And yet, here we are, as Newegg is selling the Patriot Viper Venom 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PVV532G600C36K) kit for just $209.
This is by far the cheapest name-brand 32GB DDR5 kit on Newegg, by roughly $80. It is also rated to DDR5 6000, which is the sweet spot for performance on AMD systems, and has both XMP and EXPO profiles to make overclocking simple.
No one is going to say that this kit's 36-36-36-76 timings and CL36 CAS Latency are stellar. But this kit is plenty capable of gaming and productivity, while somehow being cheaper than pretty much everything else right now. If you want the best RAM right now, you'll have to pay several hundred dollars more.
We're all basically RAM beggars at this point, so we can't exactly be choosers. If you're planning on building or upgrading a PC in the next few months, I'd snatch this kit up. There's a good chance you won't see anything more affordable for a long time as AI hardware demand continues to consume the world's memory supply.
