With the latest and greatest PCIe NVMe Gen 5 protocol, Samsung’s 9100 PRO is the company’s fastest SSD to date, with its sequential read and write speeds reaching 14,800MB/s and 13,400MB/s, respectively. Additionally, random read and write IOPS of up to 2,200K and 2,600K can also be achieved by the 9100 PRO, ensuring your desktop PC or laptop becomes ultra-responsive and snappy.

The version with the heatsink can be outfitted in the majority of form factors thanks to its slim profile that measures only 0.35 inches in thickness. Still, the best practice is to make the right measurements of whatever machine you plan on outfitting the 9100 PRO into, then proceed with the purchase. In any case, you’ll have to add some kind of cooling to this SSD because PCIe NVMe Gen 5 drives can get insanely hot.

While you do get insanely fast speeds from the 9100 PRO, it will be of little use if there is insufficient cooling.
