AMD to Raise Ryzen Processor Processor Prices from Today
AMD communicated to its retail partners of a price increase for its Ryzen desktop processors in the retail channel. This could just be a case of the company restoring regular pricing from brand- and distributor-level discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, although we don't know the tune to which the prices are being increased just yet. Increased processor pricing could hit DIY gaming PC budgeting that's already strained with rising prices of DDR5 memory. The price increases are expected to cover the entire portfolio of consumer-segment Ryzen desktop processors, with there being active SKUs across the Ryzen 9000 series "Zen 5" and Ryzen 7000/8000 series "Zen 4." The company is planning interesting new SKUs in the entry-mainstream segment based on older IP, a recent example of which is the Ryzen 5 7500X3D.
