Great offer for AMD’s best selling CPU, but only for in-store pickup

As you know, we usually avoid reporting on MicroCenter offers, even though they are often the lowest in the US market. We prefer to highlight historical lows instead, which gives some context to readers who might expect similar prices in the future. That may not apply to Ryzen 9000 CPUs, which, as we just reported based on Overclock.net info, could see a price hike soon. There are no details on this yet.
In the meantime, those who live close to a MicroCenter can buy AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D for $399, a full $80 below the official MSRP. This price matches what we have been seeing in parts of Europe for a while, but it is still an outlier. As with most MicroCenter exclusive offers, it is not available for online orders and is limited to in-store pickup.

Those worried that the rumors may be true can also find the Ryzen 7 9800X3D below MSRP at Amazon (currently the lowest price with shipping) or at Newegg, which is $5 more but includes a free 360 mm AIO cooler.
AMD has also seemingly confirmed the launch of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D , a faster version of this CPU. At some point the price should come down, unless AMD plans to sell the 9850X3D at an even higher price, which would make little sense. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is not much slower for gaming and has been selling well, so many buyers will look for alternatives if that happens.
