Gigabyte’s alleged new BIOS for AMD 800 series lists X3D 2.0 and PBO as “Black Technology”, adds “Cookie” score

Leaked GIGABYTE BIOS shows new UI, “Cookie score” and extra voltage data

A new video on Bilibili, posted by overclocker Yin Zhiping, appears to show a redesigned GIGABYTE UEFI BIOS interface. Gigabyte has already presented the new BIOS back in September, but this is the first time it is being shown in a video and it has clearly changed in 3 months. The background image matches current GIGABYTE releases, but the layout and menu structure look different from any public BIOS so far.

The most visible change is the layout. The old single vertical list of options is replaced by two vertical columns, which should cut down on long scrolls through choppy BIOS menus. On the right side, the info panel now shows far more voltage data than the current PC Health page, including VDDIO (IMC), VDDP, VSOC, and DRAM VDD, VDDQ and VPP. That level of monitoring may depend on an extra embedded controller, so it could be limited to mid-range and high-end boards. The DRAM slot view is also new, showing which slots are populated, but the memory vendor field is gone.

GIGABYTE’s in-house overclocker Hicookie seems to have influenced the design of the new BIOS. The interface now includes a “ Cookie score “, an AI-based CPU quality indicator created by Hicookie . Older motherboards had this feature listed as “Bisquits A.I”. At the same time, some CPU tuning features such as “X3D 2.0” and PBO are grouped under a “ Black Technology ” label in the menu.

For memory tuning, GIGABYTE groups key DRAM timings and related voltages on a single DRAM OC page, laid out horizontally, so users no longer need to jump between multiple menus just to tweak one profile.

The System Info page, however, raises questions: it shows BIOS version F5b while the lower right corner lists T25, and today only T-series BIOS builds allow VDDIO (IMC) above 1.45 V. The screenshot shows 1.50 V, which does not line up with public releases. For now this BIOS should be treated as an unconfirmed leak , but if it is real, GIGABYTE users may soon see a refreshed interface with deeper monitoring and a few more toys for overclockers.
