ONIX Arc B580 with 12GB drops to $229, Battlemage marks 1st anniversary

Odyssey B580 from ONIX drops to $229

ONIX has quietly cut the price of its Odyssey Intel Arc B580 12 GB graphics card from $249 to $229 on Newegg, going against the current talk about GPU price increases. The card targets the upper midrange Arc B580 segment with Intel’s Xe2 Battlemage architecture and aims at 1440p gaming. At $229, it becomes one of the cheaper B580 options in the US while keeping full reference specs.

The ONIX Odyssey Arc B580 features 20 Xe cores, 20 ray tracing units, and 160 XMX engines with a game clock of up to 2670 MHz. It ships with 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus running at 19 Gbps, for 456 GB/s of memory bandwidth, and has a rated board power of 190W powered through a single 8-pin connector. Compared to the LUMI OC variant, this card is a black design without ARGB lighting.

At the same time, the Arc B570 tier is also becoming cheaper. Sparkle’s Arc B570 is now available for $209 on Amazon, which narrows the gap between B570 and discounted B580 models. Arc buyers looking at this segment now have two sub-$230 cards with full Xe2 features and double-digit gigabyte VRAM configurations, even as other vendors prepare to raise prices.

Battlemage was announced a year ago

For Intel, it is definitely the quiet before the storm. We know the company is working on a BMG-G31 based model, but no one knows when it will be released and at what price. The Arc B-Series was announced exactly a year ago, and they launched a week later. Intel has never released any other gaming version than these two cards, but they added two workstation models with up to twice the memory capacity (24GB) and even a dual-GPU version.
