Gorgon Point leaks on Geekbench, confirms iGPU speed upgrade

With just weeks separating us from the official announcement of AMD’s new series, we are expecting an influx of new leaks from board partners such as Lenovo. This company has just leaked two of the AMD Ryzen 400 series SKUs while testing them on Geekbench.

According to both entries, Ryzen AI 7 450 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 are coming, confirming previous leaks. The former has a 4+4 core configuration while the latter has 4+8 cores, which is obviously Zen4 and Zen4c architecture copying the layout from the Strix Point series. In fact, the software even detects AMD’s new CPUs as “Strix Point”, confirming the refresh.

AMD already teased that the flagship SKU will ship with up to a 5.25 GHz boost, and this leak confirms it (the detailed page shows such clocks). The maximum clock for AI 7 450 appears to be 5.15 GHz.

The leak also confirms that HX 470 ships with Radeon 890M graphics (16 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units), and here we have something interesting to share. When RDNA 3.5 APUs came out, there was a debate about the 3.0 GHz clock being offered with the new iGPUs, in fact, AMD even listed such specs before changing them to 2.9 GHz.

It looks like AMD has increased the GPU clock to 3.1 GHz (at least for Radeon 890M), so it’s not just the CPU but also the iGPU getting an upgrade, small but expected.

That said, we are slowly filling the gaps in our spec sheet, which now features four SKUs based on Gorgon Point 1 and 2 silicon. The latter is a refresh of Krackan Point, which is a mid-range chip.
