Solaris 11.4 SRU 87 is now available as the latest installment of the long-running and dead-end Solaris 11.4 series.
Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU 87 brings new security features like useradd account activation options, mitigations for the AMD Transient Scheduler Attacks "TSA" that have long since been mitigated on Linux and other platforms, and other changes in the name of greater security.
This Solaris 11.4 update also adds some minor data management and networking features, virtualization enhancements, a new OCI Oracle Cloud Agent package to the Solaris repository for improving Oracle Cloud integration, and adding the GCC 15 compiler to the repository.
For anyone using Oracle Solaris on the desktop, Firefox 140 ESR and Thunderbird 140 ESR are now available to replace the prior 128 ESR versions.
