Larger Arc Battlemage is coming

This went under the radar, but apparently Intel is now ready for Big Battlemage, the elusive BMG-G31 GPU that has been in rumor headlines since the end of 2024. It looks like the launch of this card may finally be coming. For the first time, Intel has put the name of this graphics processor on a software update page, not hidden in a changelog for some open-source Linux update.
The name of this GPU appeared in VTune Profiler. The tool was updated on November 4th, it seems. The update brought two things in terms of hardware support:
Support for Intel® Arc Battlemage (BMG-G31) and Intel® Core™ Ultra 3 processors (Panther Lake)
The latter needs no explanation. Intel has already shared a deep-dive architecture overview of Panther Lake, its next-generation client series for laptops, handhelds and mini PCs. What catches our attention is the Battlemage G31 GPU, the large discrete GPU that we have been waiting to hear more about from Intel for months.
Since both products appeared alongside each other, it is safe to assume that their announcement will be either at the same time or very close. We already know that Panther Lake is launching at CES 2026. Earlier rumors put BMG-G31 launching by the end of this year, but with zero teaser from the Intel Arc marketing team (at this point I am sure it does not exist), it is safe to assume it is not launching this year.

What we know about G31 is that it should feature 32 Xe2 cores (60% more than B580), and it should ship with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit memory bus. More importantly, this card will have a full PCIe 5.0 x16 interface. This is just the basic info we have. B770 is just a rumored name, and Intel could easily use something else (B750, B730, B680 etc.).
If Intel launches a gaming variant, the G31 is almost certainly also coming to the Arc Pro series, which would enable even larger memory capacity for the Pro lineup (32 GB for a single-GPU install).
All things considered, if Intel launches Arc Battlemage G31 at CES 2026, it may be the only new graphics card at this event. RTX 50 SUPER is said to be pushed back, and there is no sign of the Radeon team having any launch planned.
