Intel Arrow Lake Refresh coming soon
Fortunately or not, Intel is following its plans to launch new SKUs for its desktop platforms.

What seems likely to be the last major update for the LGA-1851 socket, the Core Ultra 200K Plus series is resurfacing on Geekbench. We previously leaked specs for three SKUs: the flagship Core Ultra 9 290K Plus and two other variants, 270K Plus and 250K Plus. This leak focuses on the 270K variant, which we did in fact already see on this platform.
On paper, the 290K Plus looks like the smallest step. It keeps the same core count as the 285K but raises boost clocks to 5.8 GHz, about 100 MHz higher. The 270K Plus and 250K Plus both gain four extra Efficient cores, which pushes the 270K Plus up to a full-silicon 24-core configuration.
For that reason, the 270K Plus may be the most interesting part. It packs 8 P-cores, 16 E-cores and a boost clock up to 5.4 GHz. The main benchmark page lists a maximum clock of 5.4 GHz, while the detailed data shows the chip briefly reaching 5,498 MHz.

The CPU was tested twice on a Gigabyte Z890 EAGLE motherboard with 64 GB of DDR5-4800 memory . Even with this relatively slow memory configuration, the 270K Plus still outperformed the 265K CPU by 5.6% in single-core and 4.2% in multi-core tests , based on official averaged ranking data.
Even so, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is not a big upgrade. Everyone we spoke with on motherboard teams doubts it will have any real impact on the current desktop market or drive new demand for 800-series boards. They also do not expect further updates for LGA-1851 after this refresh. Board vendors are already shifting their focus to LGA-1954 and Nova Lake-S. That focus probably makes sense at this point.
