Ryzen 7 9850X3D leak shows Granite Ridge nearing 10,000 MT/s DDR5 speeds

New day, new Ryzen 7 9850X3D leak, or maybe a teaser. A picture allegedly showing the CPU running on an ASUS budget AYW (As You Wish) motherboard with AMD B850 chipset was posted on a Chinese social platform and then picked up by HXL. The screenshot amusingly shows the system date set to 2037, but aside from that it appears to confirm the CPU running at up to 5.3 GHz and support for fast memory.
We already know that Intel is planning higher memory speed support for its Arrow Lake Refresh, but not much has been said about the so called Granite Ridge X3D refresh in this area. Officially, AMD Ryzen 9000 series supports up to 5600 MT/s under JEDEC rules. Unofficially, the sweet spot sits somewhere north of 6000 MT/s.

Ryzen 9000 and the X3D models in particular do not gain much past these speeds in most cases. Faster memory with lower CAS latency is still a better choice than high latency and high-frequency modules. However, users might be less picky now and simply choose whatever kit is more affordable these days.
Even so, the screen allegedly shows memory running at 9800 MT/s , close to the 10000 mark usually only seen on Intel CPUs. That would point to some work on faster DDR5 support from AMD. Or an ASUS engineer testing the platform might just be having some fun with the community.
