A few months ago, RGB Mini-LED technology was hyped as the next big shake up for the television industry/market. Instead of widely utilized conventional white or blue generating backlight systems (usually combined with quantum dot conversion), pure sources of red, green, and blue offer superior on-screen color reproduction. The tech's primary purveyors— Samsung and Hisense—seem to be in a race to launch next-gen TV products with competing arrays onboard, starting with absolutely non-mainsteam 100+ inch offerings. Eventually, RGB Mini-LED configurations will trickle down to more affordable screen sizes (55" - 85").

Another big player, HKC, seems to be signalling its intent to pioneer RGB Mini-LED tech within the computer monitor market. Earlier today, (likely) leaked teaser/promo material was uploaded by Lonely City Hardware (@realVictor_M) on social media. Further conjecture points to the Chinese manufacturer potentially showcasing the "world's first RGB Mini LED monitor" at next month's CES trade event. Currently, HKC's panels are found in KOORUI and ANTGAMING products. Presently, familiar (non-RGB) Mini-LED backlit monitors are positioned as viable alternatives to OLED equivalents, especially in the field of gaming. The competing technologies have their own positive and negative aspects, but OLED continues to dominate in terms of popularity and availability at retail.
