ZOTAC launches special GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with PCIe based power connector

ZOTAC’s new ZBOX MAGNUS EN275060TC is a 2.65L mini PC that tries to deliver desktop class performance in a compact chassis. It pairs an Intel Arrow Lake processor with a desktop grade NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, backed by up to 96 GB of DDR5 5600 SO DIMM memory and two M.2 slots, one up to PCIe 5.0 x4.

The chassis measures 210x203x62.2 mm and weighs about 2.05 kg on its own, or 2.8 kg with the 330W external power brick. The case uses a black metal shell with large hexagonal vents on the top and grill style cutouts on the sides and rear to feed air to the internal heatsinks. Users can access memory and storage by removing two screws at the back and sliding the cover forward, exposing the motherboard daughterboard layout with the Intel HM870 chipset, SODIMM slots, and twin M.2 connectors.

Inside, the Core Ultra 7 255HX offers 8 P cores and 12 E cores for a total of 20 cores and 20 threads, a 30 MB L3 cache, integrated graphics, and an AI Boost NPU rated at 13 TOPS. ZOTAC sets the CPU at 55 W PL1 and 69 W PL2.  be adjusted from about 150 W to 200 W.

A special RTX 5060 Ti design

The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB uses the GB206 GPU with 36 SMs, 4,608 CUDA cores, and 16 GB of 28 Gbps GDDR7 on a 128 bit bus, for 448 GB/s of bandwidth. Its TGP is 180 W by default and can be adjusted from about 150W to 200W.

The board looks like a standard PCIe x16 add in card but has no 6-pin, 8-pin, or 16-pin power connectors, and the gold fingers are split into three segments. The first x8 section carries PCIe data, while the rear section has been repurposed as a 19V power feed from the mini PC’s custom slot, allowing the card to reach its 180W target without external plugs. This approach differs from the PEG 12 V concepts ASUS has shown and seems limited to this ZBOX platform for now, but it shows that bespoke RTX 50 series desktop boards with non standard power inputs are already shipping inside compact systems.

Cooling is handled by two separate modules: a blower style heatsink with a copper base and dual heatpipes for the CPU, and a dual drum fan vapor chamber cooler for the RTX 5060 Ti. According to HKEPC review, under a 35 minute OCCT stress test, the CPU sits around 76 °C while the GPU peaks near 87 °C, and the system cannot maintain the full 180W GPU power budget for long.

Technically speaking, this RTX 5060 Ti the first cable-free design. Other desktop cards that have standard power connectors removed, still rely on external cables, which are simply connected to the motherboard instead. In this case, there is just one cable, from the external power supply.
