Segotep to launch TITANLOAD cable ready for launch

Segotep, company that makes power supplies and PC cases, has outlined the final specs and schedule for its TITANLOAD 16-pin high-current cable, designed for 1 2V-2×6 PCIe 5.1 graphics cards. The company has dropped the previously planned 12A retail model and will go straight to the stronger 14A TITANLOAD EX , which is due to ship in China in December 2025 or January 2026. Segotep says the new cable targets users worried about 16-pin connector failures on high-end RTX 50 series cards and future even higher power GPUs.

TITANLOAD works with any graphics card and power supply that already uses a 12V-2×6 connector and meets the PCIe 5.1 spec, so no PSU swap or hardware modification is needed. The cable keeps 16 AWG wire and the same basic materials, but the internal structure of the terminals has been reworked to increase the contact area and current carrying capacity. Gold-plated terminals and a tighter fit are part of this change, which also makes the plug harder to insert and remove. There is no 90-degree version for now, and each cable ships with a pre-installed comb for tidier routing.

Segotep’s lab data comes from tests at 26 °C ambient with no airflow. Under the standard PCIe 5.1 design load of 669 W, a regular 9.3 A 12V-2×6 cable reached a maximum temperature rise of 97.46 °C and an average rise of 71.98 °C, with a hot-spot temperature of 123.46 °C. Under the same conditions, the TITANLOAD 12A cable dropped those figures to 50.76 °C maximum rise, 41.11 °C average rise and a 76.76 °C hot spot. The 14A TITANLOAD EX went further, with only 27.53 °C maximum rise, 23.45 °C average rise and a 53.53 °C hot-spot reading at the harness.
The company also tested higher loads that exceed the PCIe 5.1 design target. At 864 W and 12 A, the 12A cable showed a maximum temperature rise of 72.96 °C and an average of 61.34 °C, while the 14A EX stayed at 46.58 °C and 38.33 °C. Hot-spot temperatures at this load were 98.96 °C for the 12A cable and 72.58 °C for the 14A EX. In a 15 A stress test at 1080 W, which is above the rated 14 A design, TITANLOAD EX peaked at 94.69 °C, with a temperature rise of 68.96 °C and an average rise of 58.87 °C.
The TITANLOAD 14A EX is said to reduce the thermal failure rate to 1.2% of the standard cable, with MTBF raised by 80 times. Future power supplies are expected to ship with TITANLOAD cables by default, aiming to give RTX 50-class users a safer 16-pin option straight out of the box.
