GeForce RTX 3060: last month for new cards as stock runs out
Board Channels claims the remaining supply of factory-new GeForce RTX 3060 series cards is now ending, with December marking the final month for new units in the channel.
The GeForce RTX 3060 launched in February 2021 and quickly became one of the most common mid-range GPUs in gaming PCs. The lineup also went through multiple variants, including GeForce RTX 3060 Ti models and Lite Hash Rate (LHR) versions meant to curb mining demand. The last “new” refresh was the GeForce RTX 3060 8GB, released 1145 days ago, which shows how long this SKU has stayed on shelves.
The NV RTX 3060 series of brand-new graphics cards will officially end its run in December.
This NVIDIA RTX 3060 series has been sold for a long time. Although NVIDIA stopped producing this GPU a while ago, board partners still had remaining inventory on hand. That supply lasted until around the middle of this year before it finally ran out. [… ]
While there is still some inventory for sale in the market, it is mostly ex-mining cards and refurbished used cards, and the overall volume is no longer large.
Brands such as Colorful, Taiwanese vendors, and Galax mostly cleared their inventory around September or October. After that, only Zotac still had the largest RTX 3060 stock on hand, and it was fully cleared during November. That means genuinely new RTX 3060 cards have now been completely sold through, and from this month the card is said to be officially exiting the market and “ending its mission.”

This is not a new discontinuation notice. Reports already said NVIDIA was wrapping up RTX 3060 orders back in August 2024, and those final orders still needed time to ship through the supply chain. What is changing now is availability of brand-new cards, since most remaining market inventory this year was limited and often skewed toward used, ex-mining, or refurbished stock. Board Channels adds that brands such as Colorful, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and Galax cleared remaining RTX 3060 inventory around September or October, with Zotac reportedly holding the largest batch until it was cleared in November.

Retail listings already look thin. On Newegg, there are currently two new GeForce RTX 3060 12GB cards listed at $289.99, with an MSI Ventus 2X 12G OC dropping to $269.99 after a $20 rebate card, alongside a Gigabyte Windforce OC model at the same base price. If remaining stock sells through, new RTX 3060 listings may disappear from major stores, leaving used and refurbished cards as the main option.
