ASUS ZenBook Duo has two batteries
ASUS has posted a short teaser video for its next Zenbook DUO, which the company plans to show at CES 2026 in Las Vegas in early January.
The short video clip hints at a battery design that sits on both sides of the chassis. On current dual screen laptops, the battery is typically placed on one side, while the second display occupies most of the remaining space.
A comparable idea exists on Lenovo’s ThinkPad T580, though that model used an internal pack plus a removable one. The Zenbook DUO teaser suggests both packs will be internal, which would fit the DUO’s slim design.

The current-gen Zenbook Duo features either Core Ultra 100 “Meteor Lake” up to 185H (16 cores) or Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” up to 285H with 16 cores as well (but no hyperthreading). With that in mind, it is easy to guess that the successor will use the Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake” chip.

ASUS has not shared capacity numbers yet. The current Zenbook DUO uses a 75 Wh battery, with ASUS quoting up to 13 hours of use. If the next model splits power delivery between two packs, it could extend runtime, but it may also add weight. The current model is rated at 1.65 kg, so the CES launch should clarify how much the design changes.
