Minisforum wants to make it easier to convert standard PCIe to OCulink connection
MINISFORUM has added its own PCIe to OCuLink adapter card, called the EOP4A. It is meant to expose an OCuLink port from a desktop PCIe slot for external PCIe devices like eGPU docks or NVMe enclosures.
OCuLink is basically PCIe carried over a cable, so the core adapter design is straightforward. MINISFORUM says the EOP4A includes a redriver chip to correct signal loss and keep the link stable, which should help signal quality compared to a passive board.
On specs, MINISFORUM lists PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth, with compatibility for PCIe x1, x4, x8, and x16 slots. The interface is listed as “TO OCulink SF8611/8612”, and the card measures 80 mm x 40 mm (excluding the bracket) with both low-profile and full-height brackets included.

Pricing depends on the regional store. MINISFORUM’s EU store lists it at €55 (down from €69), while the UK store shows £69, with availability shown as sold out.
Minisforum offers its own OCuLink external GPU solutions (even a dock), and this seems to be the only use for such specific devices. Basically it expands OCulink to desktops for users who may want to add extra GPU horsepower to their systems.
