NVIDIA Hotfix 591.67 fixes SDR gradient banding, Digital Vibrance, and Control Panel tray icon toggle

NVIDIA has a hotfix for its display driver, the last GPU driver for 2025?

NVIDIA has today posted GeForce Hotfix Display Driver 591.67. The package is based on the current Game Ready Driver 591.59.

This hotfix focuses on three specific issues tied to image output and NVIDIA Control Panel behavior. NVIDIA says users may see slight banding on gradients when running in SDR color mode , where smooth transitions such as skies, shadows, or UI fades can show visible steps instead of blending cleanly, and 591.67 is meant to correct that.

It also addresses cases where Digital Vibrance fails to apply properly, which can leave color saturation changes inconsistent across the desktop and apps, even when the setting is enabled.

The third fix targets the control panel itself, restoring the ability to turn off the “Show Notification Tray Icon” option so the NVIDIA icon does not get stuck in the system tray after users try to disable it.

Remember that a hotfix is not a WHQL release, it is a beta that should only be installed by people who experience these specific issues. We do not know when NVIDIA is planning to release a new Game Ready update. As far as I can tell, there’s no big game launch this year anymore that NVIDIA may tie to new drivers, so this could be the last update for your GPU in 2025.
