Putting AI to good use? AMD’s bun fight over hot dog
AMD decided to find the best way to show off Strix Halo’s capabilities. They chose to throw eight local LLMs into a group chat and ask the one question that may ruin family holiday spirit.
The demo runs on a Ryzen AI MAX 395+ system, with eight small models (around 3B to 8B) l oaded at the same time through AMD’s Lemonade server. The web app shares a single chat history, runs five rounds, then forces the models to vote. It ended the way every hot dog argument ends: no clean answer, a split decision, and at least one participant acting confident anyway.

The comments went straight for courtroom memes. Someone said it needed a ninth model “like the Supreme Court,” and another reply joked the ninth vote would just hallucinate.
AMD posted steps to reproduce this debate plus a reminder that Linux NPU support is still a under work. Eight models can run in parallel on a PC, but none of them can stop gamers from asking, “Wasn’t Strix Halo supposed to be a gaming APU”? I guess AMD doesn’t see it that way.
