The Callisto Protocol free for few more hours
Epic Games Store has made The Callisto Protocol free to claim as part of its Holiday Sale giveaway rotation. The offer went live on December 24, 2025 at 17:00 CET (Warsaw time) and ends on December 25, 2025 11:00 ET/08:00 PT. The game normally sells for €59.99 on Epic Games Store (listed as $59.99 in the US storefront).
The Callisto Protocol is a narrative-driven, third-person survival horror game set centuries in the future on Jupiter’s moon Callisto. You play as Jacob Lee, who is thrown into Black Iron Prison just as an outbreak turns inmates into monsters, forcing you to fight your way out while uncovering what caused the collapse. Combat blends ranged weapons with close-quarters melee, and the game leans on tense, claustrophobic encounters and scavenging for upgrades.

Based on reviews, if you want one simple pick for a smooth experience at 1440p High with RT off, both RTX 4070 and RX 7800 XT land in the same performance band. However, if you are aiming for 4K High with RT off, cards around the RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX are the clean step up. The game is heavy to run with ray tracing. Simply put, similar GPUs to 4K RT off will give a similar experience but at 1440p.
