Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is real
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, the supposed dual 3D V-Cache CPU, has finally appeared in a leak. Previously, it was only mentioned in a tweet that also revealed the 9850X3D CPU. Now it has been spotted on Geekbench and PassMark pages. AMD has either sent out review samples, or the CPUs are already being tested by board partners.
What we learn from the leak is that there is indeed a 9950X3D2 CPU with 16 cores and a 5.622 GHz max boost clock. This CPU is expected to have two 3D V-Cache tiles, one on each CCD. This would be the first AMD processor to ship with 3D V-Cache on both chiplets. That would bring the total L3 cache to 192MB (2x 32MB + 2x 64MB).

Both entries appear to be from today. One result lists a Galax B850M motherboard and 96GB of DDR5 memory running at 4800 MT/s (two modules).

The PassMark leak also claims a 5.7 GHz boost clock and lists the CPU as a 170W TDP part. An earlier leak claimed 200W, which would be the highest in the Ryzen 9000 family. Either PassMark is showing incorrect data, or AMD updated the spec.
The leak suggested AMD will announce the two Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs at CES 2026, and that still looks plausible. What we do not have yet is final pricing, and the more important detail, the actual launch date. The 9850X3D has already appeared in some distribution lists, but the 9950X3D2 has not.
