Radeon RX 7700 XT reference card exists
A Radeon RX 7700 XT “MBA” card has surfaced online, showing what looks like an AMD reference design that never reached retail. The photos were posted on X by GOK, and the shroud design matches AMD’s own official renders, which helps confirm it is not a random custom mockup.
MBA stands for “Made by AMD.” It refers to AMD’s in-house reference design and cooler. The RX 7700 XT launched as add-in-board partner cards only, so there was never an AMD reference model on shelves.

This unit looks like an engineering sample. It uses a red PCB and has extra connectors meant for bring-up and validation work. The card also has load indicator LEDs, but they reportedly stay fully lit all the time. The cooler layout looks close to the RX 7800 XT MBA design.

It appears that the backplate was purpose-built, with cutouts that allow direct voltage probing. That kind of access is common during engineering validation, but it is rare to see it paired with a finished-looking backplate on a pre-production card. A GPU-Z screenshot shared with the card shows it running as a normal RX 7700 XT (Navi 32, 12GB GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus).
