ASUS to launch ROG, TUF, ProArt NEO motherboards at CES 2026, designed for AMD Ryzen AM5 CPUs

ASUS confirms AMD 800-series NEO motherboards launching at CES 2026

ASUS is teasing a new wave of AM5 boards for CES 2026, with “NEO” branding used around the campaign. It fits the pattern we are already seeing from other vendors refreshing AMD’s 800-series platform. MSI has been pushing its MAX refresh with new BIOS and auto tuning hooks, while GIGABYTE has been leaning into its X3D focused X870E lineup and “Turbo Mode 2.0” messaging.

On the ASUS side, the company has already confirmed that CES 2026 ROG coverage includes new ROG Strix and ROG Crosshair motherboards.

The timing also lines up with the next Zen 5 X3D refresh cycle. Early retail listings point to a Ryzen 7 9850X3D, and the leaked Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has already appeared in benchmark databases, with CES 2026 confirmed as release window. If these parts land at CES, they will likely be used as the headline CPUs for the refreshed X870E and B850 class boards shown at the event.

Longer term, AM5 is still expected to carry into Zen 6, and board makers have been leaning on “Zen 6 ready” messaging to justify these refreshes. At the same time, EXPO 1.2 and CUDIMM support looks like it is being framed as a next step that may depend on next generation platforms rather than today’s boards, even if physical compatibility overlaps.
