HKC’s ANTGAMER ANT275PQ MAX adds 1080Hz mode, but it drops to 720p

HKC says it has a new ultra-high refresh gaming monitor that can reach 1080Hz. The company lists a dual-mode setup: 1440p at 540Hz, or 720p at 1080Hz.
This dual-mode detail only surfaced now, months after the monitor first appeared in August as a 540Hz QHD model. HKC also plans to show the display at CES 2026 under its ANTGAMER brand. In the CES press materials, HKC describes the ANT275PQ MAX as a QHD LCD esports monitor with a dual-mode function that enables the 1080Hz setting.
Back in August, the ANT275PQ MAX was described as a 27-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS monitor built around an oxide backplane (HMO). That earlier report also pointed to DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 support , which matters if you want high refresh at QHD without heavy compression. Pricing in China was shown to be around $980.
After last year’s ANT257PF 750Hz FAST TN monitor, ANTGAMER launches the upgraded ANT275PQ MAX the world’s highest-refresh-rate QHD LCD monitor , supporting 1080Hz in FHD mode with AI-powered image processing for extreme-speed FPS performance.

The dual mode means that once users choose a 1080 Hz refresh rate, the resolution will drop to 720p. We have seen plenty of examples of such monitors, but we are yet to hear if anyone is really using them, even in real esports tournaments. If you buy this monitor, then sure, you can brag about owning the fastest panel on the market, good luck playing competitively at a resolution lower than most modern smartphones.
