Anti-glare OLED and 17mm laptops planned for 2026 from Dell Alienware
Alienware’s new laptop updates for CES 2026, led by an anti-glare OLED option and two new laptop classes planned for later in 2026.
The company says the Alienware 16 Area-51 and Alienware 16X Aurora will offer anti-glare OLED panels that cut surface gloss by 32% . It also lists 0.2 ms response time, HDR True Black 500, up to 620 nits peak HDR brightness, 120% DCI-P3 color volume, and VESA HDR ClearMR 9000.
Alienware also claims the panels include AI-based pixel protection, plus durability targets such as 15 kg lid pressure testing and a 20,000-cycle hinge lifespan. The goal is to make OLED more usable in bright rooms and on the move, while keeping the usual OLED contrast benefits.

On the platform side, Alienware says the Alienware 16X Aurora, Alienware 16 Area-51, and Alienware 18 Area-51 will ship with Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. For timing, Alienware lists Q1 2026 availability for the 16X Aurora and 16 Area-51 with anti-glare OLED, and Q1 2026 for the 18 Area-51.
Later in 2026, Alienware plans an ultra-slim gaming laptop that is “roughly 17mm” thick, in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, with NVIDIA discrete graphics and next-gen CPUs (Core Ultra 300?). It also describes a separate entry-level gaming laptop aimed at a lower starting price, while keeping the basics like cooling and build.
