HKC’s new gaming monitor to feature Full-HD 800Hz mode with Dual-Mode 4K 200Hz option

HKC readies 4K 200Hz or 1080p 800Hz dual-mode

HKC says it has successfully powered on a 27-inch 4K dual-mode monitor that can switch between UHD 200Hz and Full HD 800Hz.

The company frames it as a step beyond common DFR dual-mode designs, which usually pair a high-resolution mode at 1x refresh with a lower-resolution mode at 2x refresh. HKC says the gain from that approach is limited, because total pixels shown per unit time drops when you cut resolution to chase refresh.

HKC links the new “quadruple-frequency” switch to its self-developed display driver chip and panel work. It also says the 800Hz mode can be enabled with a one-click toggle. What’s important is that this 800Hz mode is at 1920×1080 resolution , not 720p like on most dual-mode monitors.

This announcement lands right before CES 2026, where HKC has already revealed part of its monitor lineup. In its CES materials, HKC’s ANTGAMER brand lists the ANT275PQ MAX as a QHD LCD esports monitor with a dual-mode function that enables a 1080Hz setting.

I think this is finally something actually interesting to report. Since many players see 720p as hard to take seriously today. 1080p still has a big user base, and it is a setting competitive esports players can realistically run. From what I remember, 1440p displays are also common in that crowd, but it depends a lot on the game.
