HP is preparing three OMEN gaming laptops for CES 2026: OMEN MAX 16, OMEN 16, and the returning OMEN 15.
The main change is the platform. These systems are listed with unreleased Intel Core Ultra Panther Lake parts, plus AMD options on OMEN 15 and OMEN 16. OMEN 15 goes up to Intel Core Ultra 9 386H or AMD Ryzen AI 7 450 . OMEN 16 goes up to a next-gen Intel Core Ultra processor or AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX.
GPU tiers stay clean. OMEN 15 and OMEN 16 top out at NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070. OMEN MAX 16 tops out at NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090.

Displays move to OLED across the stack, with the same 0.2ms response time listed on all three. OMEN 15 is shown with up to a 3K 120Hz OLED panel. OMEN 16 steps to up to a 2.5K 165Hz OLED panel. OMEN MAX 16 goes up to a 2.5K 240Hz OLED panel.
In terms of memory, OMEN 15 lists up to 32GB DDR5-5600 and up to a 1TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD. OMEN 16 lists up to 64GB DDR5-5600 and up to a 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. OMEN MAX 16 lists up to 64GB DDR5-6400 and up to a 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD.

The OMEN 15 and OMEN 16 list a HyperAction keyboard with an 8000Hz polling rate. OMEN MAX 16 does not list a keyboard polling rate in the spec sheet. Windows Latest does not provide the spec for the MAX 16 keyboard, but from what we can see, it has more ARGB lighting.
HP AI software offering ‘42% FPS increase’
Of course, there is some AI involved. HP is also expected to push OMEN AI software, again because it was already released as beta. The software claims to offer up to 42% higher FPS in supported titles and settings, with results varying by game and configuration. The lineup is also said to include self-cleaning fans.
