ASUS ROG MATRIX also has RTX 5090D V2 version with 24GB memory, 807W max power teased

ASUS ROG MATRIX 5090 but with 24GB memory

ASUS is using the ROG Matrix brand for its 30th anniversary RTX 5090 project, and the global card is the 32GB ROG Matrix GeForce RTX 5090 30th Anniversary Edition. ASUS has also been tied to a GeForce RTX 5090D V2 Matrix variant for China, and it is not clear if the “1000 units” limited run applies only to the global RTX 5090, or to both versions.

The latest teaser and hands-on video comes from Tony Yu at ASUS China, who compared the card to previous-gen ROG ARES/MARS models.

He describes the card as a ASUS 30th VGA anniversary product, shows off the oversized box, and walks through the bundle, including a GPU support bracket that doubles as a small screwdriver tool. It looks identical to the RTX 5090 version.

Tony compares the new Matrix design to the first ROG Matrix card from 2008 (Matrix 9800 GT), calling out the similar curved styling. He then pulls in older showcase models for context, including the dual GPU MARS 2 (NVIDIA) and the dual GPU ARES (AMD), to underline how ASUS used to build “showpiece” graphics cards.

Later Tony demonstrates it on a BTF (backside connector) build. He says the top 16-pin (12V-2×6) handles up to 600W, while a second power path comes from the bottom BTF interface using an adapter, letting the card target an 800W limit. That dual-input design is also described on ASUS’ own product page. In FurMark, he shows GPU-Z power readings hovering in the high 700W range and peaking at 807W with both inputs connected.

He follows with 3DMark Time Spy Extreme numbers and a quick overclocking segment, showing one run at 26,637 and a higher result after tuning (28,638). Yu also points out the low GPU temperature he saw in the run (around 60C) and mentions the card’s LN2-focused touches, which ASUS also highlights as part of the Matrix feature set.

ASUS did not mention the price for this model for Chinese market, but the international version (with 32GB memory) costs $4000/€4000.
