NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 prices already pushing toward $4,000

RTX 5090 price climbing, but where’s the peak?

Not a single day has passed in the new year, and RTX 5090 pricing is already hitting a record high for the year. The $1,999 MSRP can only be found on NVIDIA’s official store for the Founders Edition. If you are lucky, NVIDIA may drop more cards through Verified Priority Access, and that may be the only way to buy the flagship Blackwell model at MSRP.

The same story also lists AIB cards starting at $2,499. You can still find a card at that price in stock, but only in brick-and-mortar stores if you order it for pickup. Other retailers have wasted no time pushing pricing toward the $3,000 to $4,000 range.

We checked the largest retailers listed by NVIDIA, and prices now start at $3,059, but most are already past the $3,500 mark. These are the only cards currently in stock, and they are sold directly by retailers.

BestBuy, B&H Photo Video, MemoryExpress

The cheapest card on Amazon is for Prime members only, at $2,999 for the TUF model.

Rumors suggested that NVIDIA will raise the RTX 5090 price to $5,000, but we find this unlikely. As far as we know, NVIDIA has no plans to officially increase the MSRP. This is rare, and it would likely be reported or leaked by board partners.

Instead, we expect NVIDIA to ignore rising flagship pricing and either delist the Founders Edition or wait for the market to stabilize. One thing seems certain, though. As we approach the one-year anniversary of the RTX 5090, we do not expect the card to become widely available at MSRP, which seemed possible a few months ago but clealry does not anymore.
