MSI releases AGESA pre-1.3.0.0 with microcode update for upcoming Ryzen 9000G

MSI first to release new AGESA for new Ryzen 9000 processors

We are just days away from AMD announcing a Ryzen 9000G update at CES 2026, and MSI has been working for some time on making its 600 and 800 series motherboards compatible. While support for Strix Point silicon remains uncertain, it is clear that Krackan support has already been added and will likely serve as the foundation for the 9000G series. These are monolithic Ryzen CPUs with a somewhat more powerful integrated GPU.

According to SMU Checker, ComboAM5Pi 1.3.0.0 brings a newer System Management Unit for Krackan and Phoenix. It does not, however, offer any updates for Raphael and Granite Rapids CPUs. This update appears focused on Krackan and Phoenix APUs rather than Ryzen 7000 and 9000 updates, including the new F and X3D series expected to make their formal debut at CES 2026.

MSI lists the new BIOS as pre-1.3.0.0, so it may not be the official or final version. MSI has not provided a changelog, so everything we know comes from SMU data extraction.

The new BIOS was released for three motherboards: MEG X870E GODLIKE X (not yet for the non-X), MPG X870E Carbon, and the X870E Edge TI series.
