NVIDIA’s first GeForce NOW update of 2026 mentions new games but “forgets” to mention the new 100-hour cap
NVIDIA opened 2026 with a GeForce NOW Thursday post that reads like a year recap and a January content drop. It highlights the GeForce RTX 5080 upgrade for the Ultimate tier and lists 14 games scheduled for January.
In the post, NVIDIA again ties Ultimate to Blackwell-class servers and calls out features it links to the RTX 50 Series stack, including DLSS 4 and 5K 120fps streaming. It also repeats recent platform messaging around Steam Deck support via a native GeForce NOW app, plus the Install-to-Play feature for expanding what can be streamed from a PC library.
NVIDIA also included a wave of creator and community quotes describing how GeForce NOW “got better” over 2025. The post, however, does not mention the 100-hour monthly playtime cap that now applies to most paid subscribers.
To thank the GFN community for joining the cloud gaming revolution, GeForce NOW is offering active paid members as of Dec. 31, 2024, the ability to continue with unlimited playtime for a full year until January 2026.

That cap was announced in 2024 for new sign-ups first, with existing paid accounts getting unlimited playtime through 2025. As of January 2026, Performance and Ultimate accounts get 100 hours of monthly playtime, with up to 15 hours rolling over if unused. If the cap is reached, the account can buy more time or keep playing using the free tier experience until the monthly reset. Founders are still listed as the main exception, as long as the membership does not lapse.

In the US pricing NVIDIA previously attached to the cap, extra time is sold in 15-hour blocks, $2.99 for Performance and $5.99 for Ultimate, on top of the base subscription.
