Legion Go 2 with official SteamOS support confirmed by Lenovo

Lenovo marketing material for the Legion Go Gen 2 includes a clear SteamOS line. The slide says the device “supports SteamOS*,” alongside a “one button switch to Windows Xbox FSE” note.
The same image lists an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, a 5-35W tuning range, and 32GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory. It also mentions an 8.8-inch OLED panel with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. So yes, this is the same version that Lenovo sells on the global market; however, this is the first time it is listed on Lenovo’s JD store.
This follows earlier reports that Lenovo might release a Legion Go Gen 2 variant with SteamOS. Judging from this listing, it appears the system will ship with Windows but include an option to install SteamOS through recovery mode. For now, it is shown as a single product rather than separate Windows and SteamOS versions.

Lenovo already sells a Legion Go S “Powered by SteamOS” model, and it has posted its own SteamOS install guide for that device. Valve’s recent SteamOS 3.7 updates also expanded recovery and install support for other AMD handhelds, even if full support is still described as a work in progress.
The current official SteamOS-powered handheld uses a Ryzen Z2 A chip, but a Legion Go Gen 2 with a Ryzen Z2 Extreme would bring Strix Point silicon into that lineup, similar to the MSI Claw A8 and the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, which uses an AI variant.
