Belkin’s wireless HDMI dongle works up to 40 meters, but caps out at 1080p60

Belkin ConnectAir wireless HDMI dongle casts without Wi-Fi access

Belkin used CES 2026 to announce the ConnectAir Wireless HDMI Display Adapter, a plug-and-play casting kit for laptops, tablets, and phones. The pitch is simple: mirror your screen to a TV, monitor, or projector without joining a Wi-Fi network and without using Bluetooth.

The kit comes as two pieces. A USB-C transmitter plugs into the source device, while an HDMI receiver connects to the display and draws power over USB-A. Belkin says the direct wireless link can reach up to 131 feet ( 40 meters ), depending on the environment.

On the video side, ConnectAir is rated for 1080p at 60Hz, with claimed latency under 80ms. It works with USB-C devices that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, including Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS laptops. Belkin also lists support for M1 and M2 iPad Pro and iPad Air models, plus USB-C phones that can output video. For meeting rooms, one receiver can pair with up to eight transmitters for multi-user screen sharing.

Given the resolution and latency, this is definitely not intended for gamers.

Belkin is pricing the ConnectAir at $150 , with availability expected in early 2026.
