AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D set to launch on January 29, French retailer claims

French retailer confirms Ryzen 7 9850X3D launching January 29

We received a tip from one of our readers suggesting that AMD will lift the sales embargo for its yet-unannounced CPU later this month. Expectations were that it would launch sooner, but it now looks like we will have to wait until the end of the month. A French retailer suggests it is coming on January 29.

LDLC has listed what appears to be the upcoming AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D , including a full specification block. The page also shows a release field that reads “Date de sortie : 29/01/2026 à 15h” , which means it should be available for purchase on January 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM (Paris time) .

According to the listing, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is an 8-core / 16-thread Zen 5 CPU for the AM5 platform, with a 4.7 GHz base clock and up to 5.6 GHz boost. LDLC also mentions 96 MB L3 cache, 8 MB L2 cache, 512 KB L1 cache, a 120 W TDP, 4 nm process, and the Granite Ridge AM5 core name. A part number is shown as 100-1000001973WOF, and the page marks the chip as AI Ready.

Pricing is not confirmed yet, but expectations are that it will cost the same as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D did at launch. It’s worth adding that the same retailer has not yet listed the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, the dual 3D-VCache model. Perhaps it is coming much later than expected?
