AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series announced at CES 2026
AMD has announced the Ryzen AI 400 Series at CES 2026, positioning the new chips for laptops and compact desktop systems. The lineup spans 15W to 54W configurable TDP.

AMD Gorgon Point is here. Codenamed, Ryzen AI 400 series combine Zen 5 and Zen 5c CPU cores for up to 12 cores and 24 threads. This is the same configuration as Strix Point and in most cases this is just a refresh with minor updates.
AMD lists boost clocks up to 5.2GHz, and up to 36MB of combined L2+L3 cache. Memory support goes up to 8533 MT/s on the higher SKUs, while the lower models are listed at up to 8000 MT/s. On the AI side, AMD rates the NPU at up to 60 TOPS , while integrated graphics scales from Radeon 840M to Radeon 890M, topping out at 16 CUs and up to a 3.1GHz GPU boost clock. In my opinion, these are the biggest updates compared to the last-gen series.
The seven chips range from the Ryzen AI 9 HX 475 (12C/24T, 60 TOPS, Radeon 890M) and Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 (12C/24T, 55 TOPS, Radeon 890M) down to the Ryzen AI 5 430 (4C/8T, 50 TOPS, Radeon 840M). Mid-stack parts include the Ryzen AI 9 465 (10C/20T, 50 TOPS, Radeon 880M) and Ryzen AI 7 options with Radeon 860M or 840M graphics.
AMD also shared performance slides comparing the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 against Intel’s Core Ultra 9 288V. In content creation, AMD claims a +71% average uplift across common apps. For gaming, AMD cites a +12% average FPS gain at 1080p low settings, with per-title results shown at 105% (F1 25), 105% (Borderlands 3), 105% (Cyberpunk 2077), 114% (Sid Meier’s Civilization V), 116% (Monster Hunter Wilds), 119% (Black Myth Wukong), and 119% (Counter-Strike 2).
Systems based on Ryzen AI 400 Series are expected in Q1 2026, with AMD naming partners such as Acer, ASUS, HP, and Lenovo.
