Alienware confirms AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, coming to AREA-51 gaming PCs

Alienware mentions “Ryzen 9 9950X3D2” as AMD stays quiet on the SKU name

Alienware China has referenced a “Ryzen 9 9950X3D2” in (what seems to be) a preplanned marketing copy, even though AMD has not confirmed that SKU name.

AMD did not announce any dual 3D V-Cache desktop CPU at its CES 2026 presentation. After the event, AMD told a small group of journalists that a dual 3D V-Cache CPU is still coming, but it did not attach a product name.

There is also evidence that AMD prepared CES assets for more than one stacked-cache SKU. A file uploaded to the CES 2026 media area included a CPU image that points to dual 3D V-Cache parts, then the dual model was still missing from the final stage segment.

At this point it’s obvious that AMD was meant to launch two Ryzen 9000X3D SKUs at CES 2026, but for whatever reason they did not. Alienware’s post was almost certianly prepared earlier and it looks like someone did not get the memo on time.

In fact, this isn’t the only case of 9950X3D2 name drop. UK-based system integrator announced partnership with AMD for its new 9950X3D2 system which also use Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPUs:

AMD has not shared pricing or a release date for the dual 3D V-Cache desktop CPU, and it has not confirmed whether “Ryzen 9 9950X3D2” is the final retail name.
